National Three Peaks Challenge

A group of Hinckley freemasons are preparing to take part in the Nationl Three Peaks Challenge as part of the celebrations of the Tercentenary of Fremasonry.

This will involve climbing the three highest peaks in, Scotland England and Wales. The first on Saturday September 2nd will be on Scotlands Ben Nevis, followed by Scafell Pike in Englands Lake District and culminating in Wales on Snowdon. At this time twelve members, and including two, soon-to-be, initiates,are taking part in this adventurous challenge which is aiming to raise funds through sponsorship to go towards the Leicestershire & Rutland 2022 Festival and the Hinckley Homeless Group, which provides medium-stay supported accomodation for homeless young people in the Hinckley area.

Sonic Garden Fest

On Sunday 27th August The Sonic Garden Fest will be taking place near Hinckley. This is a fun family day with live music. There are two options available for participation on the day:

  • A 5-course dinner from 12 midday followed by the lass formal event
  • General admission from 3.00 p.m. to include an early evening BBQ and late night food

Hinckley Masonic Hall Open Day

As part of the celebrations for the 300 years of Fremasonry, Masonic halls throughout the country are opening their doors to the public on Saturday September 9th 2017. The Hinckley Masonic Hall will be open from 10 a.m. through to 3.00 p.m. and during this time short guided tours will be available. The building originally erected in 1927 is an example of art-decor design and was substantially extended and refurbished in 2011. Audio/video displays will supplement the tours and refreshments will be available throughout the day from the licensed bar on the ground floor.
